Saad Avola and a group of 45 volunteers (38 of whom were students in Naples) from a local church raised over $65,000 to take a mission trip to Mexico, where they built three homes in four days. They had no power tools or running water — everything was done by hand.

The volunteers woke up every morning with the sunrise, and spent eight hours every day constructing the three houses where a family of four and a family of seven would soon call home. Their evenings were spent singing songs around the campfire, and then all lights were out by 10 pm.

Saad Avola says, "This was a life changing experience for me. It is a great feeling when I help someone buy their dream home, but actually helping someone build their home is even more fulfilling." She adds, "We are so blessed to live in such a generous community that supports this type of outreach work not only locally but around the world."
