| Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate to Host Free Seminars to Benefit First-Time Homebuyers | |
| Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate is pleased to announce that it will host free seminars to area first-time homebuyers. The educational seminars, which require no obligation on the part of the attendee, will address the first-time homebuyer tax credit, common issues for the first-time homebuyer, the options available to the first-time homebuyer and current market conditions. Representatives from Coldwell Banker's preferred services (may include mortgage, title and home warranty) will share their insight and professional knowledge.

The maximum credit amount through this federal tax program is $7,500. The credit is available for homes purchased on or after April 9, 2008 and before July 1, 2009. Single taxpayers with incomes up to $75,000 and married couples with incomes up to $150,000 qualify for the full tax credit. The tax credit works like an interest-free loan and must be repaid over a 15-year period. "Right now is the perfect time for first-time homebuyers to get into the market. However, we recognize that newcomers need more information to help them make that important first step toward realizing their dream of owning their first home. Additionally many renters aren't aware that they can afford to buy a home.
