In South Florida, RMHC helps families in need with three core programs: a Ronald McDonald House® in Miami, a Ronald McDonald House® in Fort Lauderdale and a Grants Program that supports medical research and health care, educational and social programs to benefit children and their families. Since 1984, Miami's 29-bedroom Ronald McDonald House®, located on the grounds of Jackson Memorial Medical Center, has provided shelter and solace to more than 15,000 families. The 20-bedroom Ronald McDonald House® of Fort Lauderdale opened in May of 2004. It is located on the grounds of Broward General Medical Center in Downtown Fort Lauderdale.
